Hectic lifestyles leave no time left over for us moms. We are constantly fulfilling everyone else’s needs except our own! It’s a cliché but, it’s so true. The good news is that self-care can be restorative with only 10 minutes per day! Pick a time every day, preferably the same time each day, to use 10 minutes for yourself. Choose an activity that suits your mood that day, for example, a 10 minute workout, meditation, stretching, yoga, spacing out, reading a book, taking a walk or daydreaming. This 10 minute pause each day can get your body in better shape, freshen the mind, increases focus, raises metabolism, and resets the tone of your day.
We often put off exercise or making healthy choices because there isn’t an hour to devote to the gym or giving our brains a break during the day. So instead of not doing it at all, set a small 10 minute goal. Once you achieve this and notice how such a small amount of time can make a difference will motivate you to continue finding the time or start making more time for this break.
We all can find 10 minutes for ourselves! Lock yourself in the bathroom, take a walk after lunch if you are at work, or workout while your baby sleeps! Find the time to make yourself a better parent and spouse by giving yourself some love!
