What is precocious puberty?

Precocious puberty is increasingly common, and it is often referred to as “early puberty.” In these cases, girls below the age of eight develop all signs of puberty. This includes breast and hair growth. For boys, this occurs before the age of nine.

Your first step after finding out that your child is going through precocious puberty is to get in touch with the pediatrician. The doctor may look for a physical cause for the condition. The issue could stem from an adrenal gland or the reproductive system.

Sometimes, there is no major health issue associated with precocious puberty. Your child might simply be an early bloomer.
