According to the Academy of Pediatrics, children under the age of two should not be spending much time at all watching television. In fact, it is better that children spend the vast majority of their time away from a screen. Instead, parents can spend their time interacting with little ones, playing with toys, singing and being creative.
The Academy of Pediatrics advises against screen time, but this does not mean that there are no benefits for little ones who do watch television or play computer games. Many parents find that their children who play games have better hand-eye coordination. Some programs are also helpful for learning language skills. Of course, it is wise to research the programs you choose to subject your children to first.
