When should I feed my baby solid food?

You can start introducing your baby to solid food as early as four months, however, the child must show specific signs before you can proceed. For example, wait to introduce solid foods until your baby can hold their head up, can move the tongue back and forth, has gained weight more frequently, makes chewing motions, and can close their mouth around a utensil. Start out slowly by giving them pureed foods such as apples and bananas.

Check with your healthcare provider/doctor before introducing solid baby food.
