What can I do to calm separation anxiety?

0

Babies commonly experience separation anxiety when their mothers (or fathers) leave for short periods of time. Of course, there are things you can do to prevent the problem from becoming worse.

For starters, stay calm when you leave your child. Give hugs and kisses before saying goodbye, but don’t prolong the process. Giving in to crying will make things worse for both of you.

If you find that this process is too difficult, try leaving for just short periods of time. Play peek-a-boo and leave the baby with another family for just a few minutes. Peek-a-boo is a great game that actually inspires curiosity in your little one.
