Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field, since the payment is pure love. ~Mildred B. Vermont

Mother's DayMoms love their children unconditionally. It’s a fact. Moms love to get wilted flowers and sloppy, sticky kisses from the little people in their lives.(These gifts melt a mom’s heart.) Typically for Mother’s Day, Moms get chocolate, flowers, and brunch. Those things are nice, but I polled moms just like you and me to see what they really wanted for Mother’s Day. Here are 20 things Moms really want for Mother’s Day:

  1. Breakfast in bed and someone else cleans up the kitchen and dishes.

  2. A self-cleaning toilet. No. Wait. A self-cleaning house.

  3. Wine. Lots of wine. Then, I won’t care about all the messes and unhappy little people in the house.

  4. A day to put in the garden. Alone. Then, dinner made by someone else.

  5. Dates. One on one time with the ones who call me mom.

  6. Peace & quiet. To go out with friends for dinner.

  7. Pop-matic dryer- where the clothes come out pressed and folded.

  8. I would enjoy a day where I don’t have to do anything, but be pampered and treated like a queen.

  9. Since my oldest is 24 and my youngest is 9, what I would really want for this Mother’s Day is one day with each of my boys to be little again, so I can embrace the little things that used to drive me crazy like that knock on the bathroom door and I hear this little voice, “Mommy are you in there?” I really miss those days!

  10. No… cleaning, cooking, argument-diffusing, grocery-shopping, errand-running… No scolding, yelling, or re-telling of the same old commands like “Brush your teeth!” or “Make your bed!”… How about receiving…Quick obedience with a smile, a catered meal, all the while…my feet are up with the remote in my hand, a cup of tea with a blanket on my lap, an inspirational movie, then a nice long nap…
